Kieron Pollard leaves ODI, return to West Indies board

The West Indies team has been qualified for the World cup 2019. The team has been qualified for the ICC world Cup in the qualifiers round in 2018. Though losing to Afghanistan in the final, the team has made a space in the World Cup 2019.

On this take, Kieron Pollard has shared his excitement towards the team. Pollard said that he was delighted to see that the West Indies has been qualified for the World Cup 2019. While talking with the 30 year old, all rounder player Pollard that he is available to play one –day internationals for West Indies team. Well, he also said that he is unsure about the plans of the board for him in the 50 over format game.

Adding to the talks, Pollard said that he is disappointed that the team has to go through the qualifier test matches. It has made him some kind of disappointments but, he is happy that the boys of West Indies team have done a phenomenal job. The official statement was - Obviously, as a West Indian cricketer, it's disappointing that we had to go through that sort of an avenue ... but I think the guys went and did a fantastic job.”

Kieron Pollard is popular as a T20 specialist. He has played total 56 T20Is for Windies. In those total 56 series he has scored 768 runs and picked up 23 wickets. Considered a Twenty20 specialist, Pollard has played 101 ODIs for the West Indies, the last in October 2016 against Pakistan. Last year Kieron Pollard has played for international match in September, when he played out of Windies against the Team England for T20 series.

While playing for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Pollard said that –“I am actually happy in my life”. Adding to this he said that he is focusing on IPL matches. "Now I am focusing on the IPL ... and, after that, there are a couple of international series."

Although he said that he is still a part of Windies team. “I am still very much part of the West Indies international Twenty20 squad," he shared the statement. For the 50 over matches there are still doubts and he said he have no idea what the Cricket association are planning. “The 50-over cricket is still a bit up in air as to what West Indies association are planning.” Two-time champions the West Indies have qualified for the quadrennial 50-over World Cup in England and Wales, finishing runner-up to Afghanistan in a 10-team event hosted by Zimbabwe.

The players have been enrolled for the contractual disputes with Cricket West Indies association (CWI) for seven years. Since 2014, the contractual disputes are on charge. The CWI has reached to an agreement with players. This would be a Temporary amnesty. The high profile players like Kieron Pollard, Chirs Gayle and others have got some way to re-enter the International One day matches. The Chirs Gayle and Samuels has participated in the qualifiers match for the World cup 2019. The CWI association has informed that Narine, all-rounder Andre Russell, Pollard and batsman Darren Bravo has been selected for the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Kieron Pollard has shared that he is happy in whatever he is doing. He said that he is busy with the IPL matches and is focusing on it. Later his hands are full with commitments of some international matches. "Whatever opportunity I get to play, I am happy” – said Pollard.

The only disappointment he has that the West Indies team has to go with the phase of qualifiers round for world cup 2019. He said he got disappointment that the boys of his team have to face this difficult phase, but he is happy that they got the victory. He is happy that the team is up for the World Cup 2019. Gavaskar backs Dhoni comment
