After elected to bat first, India made a solid start with 55/0 in 11.1 overs. Shikhar Dhawan(23 from 32 balls), Rohit Sharma (27 from 36 balls) started steadily by picking singles and hitting loose balls to boundaries.

Toss: Earlier Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first.
