India beat Ireland, makes 9 wins in a row at world cup

Cricket world cup 2015, India vs Ireland. Chasing 260 runs Indian batsman chased it in 36.5 overs by scoring 260/2. Openers Shikhar Dhawan(100 from 85 balls) and Rohit Sharma(66 from 64 balls) made a brisk start and registered 174 run partnership for the first wicket. After Rohit Sharma out, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan continued the streak and Dhawan scored century, and caught to Poterfield in Thompson bowling while going for a big shot. Virat Kohli(44 from 42) and Ajinkya Rahane(33 from 28) chased the scoring without fall of other wicket. Thompson took 2 wickets in Ireland bowling. This is 5 win in arrow at this world cup and 8 consecutive win at WC(from 2011). Earlier, Ireland scored 259 runs in 49 overs. Nail O’Brien was the top scorer with 75 runs, Poterfield scored 63 runs. In Indian bowling Shami took 3 wickets, Ashwin scalped 2 wickets and Raina ,Yadav,Mohiy Sharma and Jadeja scalped 1 wicket each. Shikhar Dhawan who scored century was awarded man of the match, this is second century for him in this world cup. Earlier, Ireland won the toss and opted to bat first.
