Afghanistan beat Scotland by 1 wicket
Cricket world cup 2015, Afghanistan beat Scotland by 1 wicket in a close match till the end. While chasing target of 210 runs, Afghanistan lost early wickets but opener Javed Ahmadi(51 runs) and Samullah Shenwari (96 runs from 147 balls) guided the Afghanistan close to the target but lost wickets and no other batsmen batted at the crease for a long time. Shenwari got out when Afghanistan was 192/9 and need 19 more runs to win. Hamid Hassan and Shapoor Zadran finished off the things with 3 balls to spare by scoring 211/9 in 49.3 overs. Richie Berrington took 4 wickets for Scotland. Earlier Scotlans started of the innings slowly and lost 3 quick wickets but Captain Preston Mommsen and Matt Machan scored 53 runs partnership and both submitted wickets in quick time. In the end Majid Haq and Evans scored some quick runs and kept Scotland in respectable score of 210. Shapoor Zadran was the top bowler with 4 wickets in his bag. Samiullah Shenwari was named as man of the match. Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to field first.
