Cricket world cup 2015, Ireland beat UAE by two wickets with 4 balls to spare at Gabba, Brisbane. Chasing a contending total of 278 runs Ireland started off the things slowly and lost Paul Stirling very early. William Poterfield and Ed Joyce added 68 runs for the second wicket but lost 3 quick wickets in quick successions. Andrew Balbirnie and Gary Wilson added another 78 runs for the 5th wickets and kept the innings in good shape but Andrew Balbirnie (30 from 41 runs) lost his wicket at 174/4 in 38th over. Later Ireland big hitting batsman Kevin O’Brien ( 50 from 25 balls) scored very quickly and lost his wicket to Javed when Ireland need 36 runs from 30 balls. After that Gary Wilson (80 from 69 balls) scored quickly and lost his wicket when Ireland need 13 runs from 2 overs. Alex Cusack and Dockrell finished off the things. Ahmed Javed took 3 wickets in Ireland Bowling. Earlier UAE scored 278/9 in 50 overs. Shaiman Anwar was the top scorer with 106 runs from 83 balls. Kevin O’Brien, Alex Cusack, Paul Stirling, Max Sorensen took 2 wickets each in Ireland Bowling. Earlier, Irelans won the toss and elected to field first. Gary Wilson was awarded with man of the match award.
