Mumbai Indians named New Zealand’s Shane Bond as bowling coach ahead of T20 IPL 8 2015

Former New Zealand speedster Shane Bond is appointed as a bowling coach by Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 8 2015. Shane Bond has confirmed this news and he also said that he will step down as Bowling coach for New Zealand National team post cricket world cup 2015 citing family reasons, want to spend more time with family. He played in IPL for 2010 season for Kolkata Knight riders. Recently, Ricky Ponting was named as a head coach for Mumbai Indians replacing John Wright.IPL 8 2015 players auction will be held on February 16 at Bangalore.

Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan appointed as Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) bowling coach

Former Sri Lanka’s great, Muttaiah Muralitharan was appointed as a Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) bowling coach for the upcoming T20 IPL 8 2015 season. Muralitharan has featured in 66 ipl matches for different IPL teams namely Chennai Super kings (2008-2010), Kochi Tuskers Kerala (2011) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (2012-2014) and took 63 wickets at an average of 26.92. During his time with Chennai Super Kings, from 2008 to 2010, he claimed 52 wickets from 46 matches, which helped the team to win the IPL title as well as the Champions League Twenty20 in 2010. He decided to end his career after disappointing season with Royal Challengers in 2014 in which he played only five matches. In June 2014, Muralitharan joined Australian team as a bowling consultant before the team's series against Pakistan in the UAE. In 2011, Muralitharan quit his international career with 1347 wickets in all three formats. He continued playing cricket for different franchises like Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League (BBL), and for Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League.

2015 IPL auction on February 16, Bangalore to host the event

The player auction for eighth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held on February 16 in Bangalore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Friday (January 30). There is no clarity on the total number of players for the auction as the deadline for the franchises to prune their original lists was set to February 4. Total 123 players – 79 Indians and 44 foreign – were retained by the franchises while five Indians were traded by some teams during the trading window which is closed on December 15. “The 2015 IPL Player Auction will mark the beginning of the countdown to the IPL 8, which is one of the most popular sporting events on the planet,” said Ranjib Biswal, IPL chairman. “The Auction will be promising one as previous editions. The Franchises have been working on their reworked plans and new strategies. They will have the opportunity to bid for some of the big names in the cricket.” Star player Yuvraj Singh who was released but Royal challengers bangalore, is likely to attract Franchises. Dinesh Karthik, Hashim Amla and Kevin Pietersen are among the players to have the highest base price of Rs 2 crore, while Indian player Irfan Pathan, Australia’s Michael Hussey, Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews and West Indies Marlon Samuels have set a base price of Rs 1.5 crore. 3 crores will be added to the franchises purse than last edition plus remaining amout after player fees will be allotted to franchises. A total of 724 players will go under the hammer.

India will face Pakistan without Sachin Tendulkar in cricket world cup 2015

For the first time in ODI World Cup history, Sachin Tendulkar will not be part of an India v Pakistan encounter. Five matches were played in a period of 23 years, and Pakistan lost all matches to India at the mega event. But this time at Adelaide on February 15 India will play without great Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar has played in every match of ODI world cup from 1992 to 2011 in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2011 and was the top scorer in three occasions with 54 runs in 1992, 98 runs in 2003, 85 runs in 2011 in which India lifted the world cup.His upper cut shot against Socib Akhtar is the major attraction in those matches.

West Indies Spinner mystery Sunil Narine Withdraws from Cricket World Cup 2015

West Indies spinner, Sunil Narine has opted to withdraw from West Indies team for the Cricket World Cup 2015, in Australia and New Zealand from February 14 to march29.This was a big blow for the West Indies as Narine was a main bowler in their spin attack. They are also missing the services of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard. "Playing for Red Force and the NAGICO Super50 was a good thing, but playing in the World Cup is a too much soon, after discussing with the WICB, I decided to delay my return to international cricket until I am 100% confident at my action," Narine said. Narine was earlier reported for his illegal action during the Champions League Twenty20 in September for his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kumara Sangakkara holds the record of hidhest number of dismissals in ODI’s

Sri Lanka's veteran player Kumar Sangakkara broke the world record for the most number of dismissals by a wicketkeeper in one-day internationals on Thursday. Sangakkara took 473 dismissals after the catch of Corey Anderson in the bowling of Shaminda Eranga in a seven match ODI series against New Zealand. Sangakkara may retire after the cricket World Cup 2015. Previously former Australian veteran keeper Adam, Gilchrist hold the record of 472 dismissals in ODI’s by a wicket keeper.

Pakistan Cricket Board has named 3 players name as a cover for injured players for Cricket World Cup 2015.Senior players Shoaib Malik, Sohail Tanvir and young Azhar Ali were announced as a standby to the 15-man Cricket World Cup 2015 squad, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, starting on February 14. The decision was taken after lot of consultations with chief selector, Moin Khan, and the team management. "Shoaib Malik, Azhar Ali and Sohail Tanvir were announced as standby if some players have fitness issues in World Cup,"a PCB source said.

18 years old Pakistan cricket player died after struck by the cricket ball

Before getting out of the tragic death of late Australian Phillip Hughes, another cricketer was died after being hit by a cricket ball. 18-year-old teenage guy Zeeshan Mohammed died after being hit on the chest by a cricket ball. Doctors at the Orangi Town hospital said that the Zeeshan Mohammed was died due to a heart seizure after being struck by the cricket ball in a club match in Orangi town on Sunday. "He was brought to the hospital but died on arrival," Doctor Samad said."We have been told that he was struck on the chest by a medium pace bowler while batting and collapsed on the pitch immediately," he said. Recently Australian batsman Phil Hughes died in a hospital after being struck on the head during a Sheffield Shield match by Sean Abbott.

Another Australian Hughes went unconscious after hit by a bouncer, but survived

Two months after the tragic death of Phillip Hughes in November, another Australian cricketer Daniel Hughes was left unconscious briefly after being struck by a bouncer on his neck during a first grade match but fortunately survived. Daniel Hughes has attempted a hook shot from bowler Cameron Nupier but the delivery hit him on the back of his neck during batting for Northern Districts against Blacktown at Mark Taylor Oval. Daniel Hughes, team mate of Phil Hughes, plays in the Big Bash for Sydney Thunder, dropped his hands onto his knees as player on the field raced to his aid. The bouncer left a lump on the side of Daniel Hughes’s head of the size of a cricket ball" but after some tests and CT scans, he was safe and discharged from the hospital. The impact of the ball on Daniel Hughes neck was just millimeters away from the same main artery which killed Phillip Hughes life.

Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi who announced his retirement from ODI cricket after the Cricket World Cup 2015 wants to end his ODI cricket career on a high note. Afridi has created fastest hundred in ODI cricket with his name (scored 102 of 37 balls) but after 17 years Corey Anderson of New Zealand had created the record by scoring a century in 35 balls. Now AB de Villiers has broken the record by scoring the hundred in 31 balls in a match against West Indies. "No one plan out to create records. It just happens when you have a very special day. If everything works well for me then I will try to break the record set by AB de Villers in the Cricket World Cup 2015," said Afridi.

PCB had asked ICC to reassess Hafeez’s bowling action before Cricket World Cup 2015

The PCB has asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to reassess Mohammad Hafeez's bowling action before Cricket World Cup 2015 which starts on February 14. A PCB official said that Hafeez was likely to take the test on February 4 in Brisbane. "We have requested the ICC to conduct the official bowling action test as soon as possible so that he can bowl in the Cricket World Cup 2015 which begins from Feb 14,"official said. Pakistan has lost its main spinner Saeed Ajmal due to his bowling action. If Hafeez also doesn’t clear his bowling action then this will be a big blow for Pakistan in Cricket World Cup 2015.

ICC has announced warm up games schedule and timings for Cricket World Cup 2015

The ICC has announced the full schedule of the ICC World Cup 2015 with match timings. A total of 14 warm-up matches will be played in Adelaide, Christchurch, Melbourne and Sydney from February 8-13, with Australia taking on defending world champion India at Adelaide Oval on the first day. Four matches will be played on the second day, Christchurch hosting match between South Africa and Sri Lanka at Hagley Oval, co-host New Zealand and Zimbabwe will play at Bert Sutcliffe Oval. In Sydney, England will play against West Indies at the SCG, and Blacktown will match between Pakistan and Bangladesh. On, February 13, UAE will play Afghanistan at Melbourne’s Junction Oval in the final warm-up match.
ICC has also confirmed the match timings of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
The tournament starts on February 14 between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at 11:00 (NZT), while Australia will face England at the MCG on the same day at 14:30 (AEDT).
The final On March 29 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground will start at 14:30 (AEDT).

Very tough to fix any match in Cricket World Cup 2015: David Richardson

The ICC chief believes that it is very tough to fix matches during upcoming Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. David Richardson also said that the International Cricket Council would slashes hard on bad behavior of the players in tournament. Pakistan players should keep away using Social media during Cricket World Cup 2015: PCB

Pakistan cricket board has warned players of Pakistan World Cup squad, not to use social networking during the Cricket World Cup 2015, which begins on February 14. Naved Akram Cheema has confirmed that players would not be allowed to use any social networking site in New Zealand tour and in the Cricket World Cup 2015. “I personally feel that people with free time are active on these sites but I don't think that our players will have enough time to focus on other things other than cricket and doing well in the Cricket World Cup 2015," he said. He said the PCB did not want the Pakistan players to get involved in unnecessary issue which usually happen when they are using these networking sites. Cheema, who was newly appointed manager for the Cricket World Cup 2015 in place of Moin Khan, said that any player found guilty of violating this clause would be punished.

Bhatti to replace injured Junaid khan in Cricket World Cup 2015

Pakistan cricket board has a big blow before Cricket World Cup 2015 as pace bowler Junaid Khan was struggling from injury and was replaced by young allrounder Bilawal Bhatti in the 15-member squad. The PCB has admitted that Junaid had not made a recovery from a hamstring injury and not going to leave with the team for Australia. "Junaid has been replaced by Bilawal Bhatti who will play the two ODI’s and two warm up games in New Zealand prior to the Cricket World Cup 2015," a board official said. "If Junaid recovers from his hamstring injury then he will join the team before the World Cup," the official added. Bilawal, has played two Tests and eight one-day internationals. Pakistan's two ODIs in New Zealand are scheduled on January 31st and February 3rd.

ICC has announced Knock out venues for Cricket World Cup 2015

Cricket Official board ICC on Monday announced the venue allocation criteria for the Cricket World Cup 2015 quarter-finals. According to Criteria if Cricket World Cup 2015 co-hosts Australia and New Zealand were to qualify from Pool A to quarter finals, then they will play their quarter-finals in Adelaide (Australia) and Wellington (New Zealand) on March 20 and 21. If from pool A, next two top teams in the list Sri Lanka and England were qualify for the quarters, Sri Lanka will play in Sydney cricket ground on March 18 and England will play in Melbourne cricket ground on March 19, irrespective of places they finish. If any of the above mentioned four teams failed then the qualified team will play there. The venues for top four from Pool B will be determined by their Pool A teams on the basis of their final positions in the group stage. For example, if defending champions India in position B1, they will play against the team that finishes last in Pool A. for Example, if Sri Lanka finish in A4 place then India will take on Sri Lanka in Sydney on March 18. For Semi finals, if co hosts Australia and New Zealand qualify, they will play at home ground if they will meet each other in semis. In this situation, the side that finished higher in Pool A will host the match. After the pool stage, the semi-final venues will be confirmed.

If both Australia and New Zealand fails to reach semi finals, the winner of the Wellington quarter-final will play its semi-final in Sydney cricket ground.
