Zimbabwe appointed former Pakistan coach Whatmore as new head coach

Zimbabwe Cricket board has announced that the former Sri Lanka and Bangladesh coach Dave Whatmore will be in charge during the ICC cricket world cup 2015 which starts on February 14th 2015. The former Australian player has replaces Stephen Mangongo who stepped down on December 18 after the tour of Bangladesh. Whatmore was 60 years old and Zimbabwe Cricket is hoping to sign a longer-term contract after the completion of World Cup.Under this, Zimbabwe players will receive coaching from Whatmore's Dubai based cricket academy. Whatmore lastly coached for Pakistan and also helped Afghanistan, Ireland, Scotland and UAE to prepare for the 50-over tournament as part ICC’s High Performance Programme.
