ICC sets Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador for cricket world cup 2015

The ICC named cricket great Sachin Tendulkar as the brand ambassador for the upcoming cricket world cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. This is second time that Tendulkar has been named as the ambassador of ICC's major tournament, before this he had the honour during the 2011 world cup as well. In his new role as ICC cricket world cup 2015 ambassador, He will promote and support a variety of ICC events which aimed at enhancing the profile of the tournament. Tendulkar retired from the game in November 2013 against West Indies. He represented India for 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and oneT20. In a 24-year old career, Tendulkar scored 34,357 international runs with 100 centuries and was leading run-scorer in World Cup history with 2278 runs from 45 matches at an average of 56.95. After the appointment Tendulkar said: "I am delighted and honoured to be appointed ICC Cricket World Cup Ambassador for the 2nd consecutive time.

Gavaskar backs Dhoni comment

India’s former veteran opener Sunil Gavaskar on Thursday backs Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his "unrest" comment that got the media talking about within which the Indian cricket team in Australia, saying that the Indian captain might have chosen a wrong word to describe the situation in the ongoing test series. Dhoni comment in the post-match presentation at the Gabba which gave hint and speculation of difference between middle order batsman Virat Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan but the visiting captain has cleared the rumour in pre match conference before the start of 3rd test in Melbourne.
