England kept Alex Hales away from the warm up game

England became more defensive and experimenting with players who can also bowl along with batting. Alex Hales was not given a chance to play as opener in warm up game and made him sit while Moeen Ali was promoted as opener. Hales was the only batsman to score a hundred in T20 against Sri Lanka in world cup 2012. "It was incredibly hard to pick a side even for this warm-up game. We just wanted another bowler in top six, and Moeen Ali gives us that option. It's a real tough call on Alex. But we are nowhere near making our final decision." Cook said. “Being scored 92 runs in four innings against India at a strike rate of 68.65, were partly behind the decision to try out Moeen Ali”, said England coach Moores. Not more than 12 ODI to be played before ICC cricket world cup 2015 Hales is going with tough time.
