India vs Ireland, Bengaluru

India will take on Ireland in the 22nd match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 on 6th March, 2011 this Sunday in M.Chinnaswamy stadium at Bangalore. The match will be very interesting for one to watch as both the teams will look to play their best. India entered the tournament as the favorites but is not up to the mark with their poor bowling and fielding performances though their batting is been consistent. The Men in Blue are able to score over 300 runs in both the matches that they played against Bangladesh and England but with their somewhat weak bowling they dragged on the matches till the end where Bangladesh looked like they can easily chase the target of 370 at one stage but with as they lost their wickets India won that match with 87 runs. The match with England on the other day came to a stage where England were the favorites and would have won that match but Zaheer Khan's fighting bowling spell helped India to tie the match and share points with England. If India wants to win the upcoming match with Ireland then both the bowling and fielding performances should be up to the mark along with the batting.

On the other hand Ireland as a team is very consistent in this tournament. They had a historical win against England the other day as they chased 328 runs successfully to out beat England and with that win are high in confidence. The century man Kevin O’Brien is the batsman in Ireland line up to look out for as he single handedly won the match for Ireland. He posted fastest century in the world cup history in just 50 balls which included six 6’s and thirteen 4’s. Alex Cusack and Mooney were the other two Irish players who helped their team to fetch a win against England. Ireland with these positives would move into the next match against India on Sunday and would definitely look to win there because if they want to make in to the next round they have to definitely win all the matches here after they play in the group stage. So, the exciting match on Sunday will be a real good contest in the group B.
